Canoes & Voyageurs

August 5, 2023   Two Classes: 11am and 1pm

Water transportation in Michigan in the 1800’s was vital for survival.  The voyageur was like the modern truck driver whose role was to transport trade goods to towns requiring them to portage and carry the canoe and supplies.  You will learn about their life and make a leather canoe and voyageur sash.
